Personal sovereignty refers to the idea that human beings have a trained tendency to seek external approval for their actions and accomplishments in life. In individuals, this can negatively impact lives. When an understanding of the inner self has not been developed, it causes a diminishment of sovereignty in the self, in essence, relinquishing the awareness of what the deeper self wants to the opinions of others.
